As the high tourist season approaches, the Thai government has recently introduced an exciting initiative to stimulate economic growth and revitalize the tourism industry. Starting from September 25th of this year until February 29th of the following year, citizens of China and Kazakhstan will have the opportunity to enjoy a visa-free stay in Thailand for up to 30 days. Prior to the implementation of this scheme, travelers from both countries were required to obtain a Thai visa on arrival, allowing for a brief 15-day stay exclusively for tourism purposes.
Furthermore, this visa-free option can be extended for additional 30 days by submitting application for an extension of stay at the Thai immigration Office at IT Square Laksi Plaza.
In addition, this type of visa is also qualified for the Urgent Duty Work Permit (UDP) in Thailand which allows foreigner to perform an urgent and necessary work for a period of no longer than 15 days. The UDP can be applied at the One Stop Service Center, Chamchuri Square.
