Business English Proficiency Increases by 28%
02 Jul 2015
PKF Thailand's staff increased their Business English proficiency levels by an average of 28% in the company's annual English proficiency test, which took place on Friday, 26th June. Each Thai staff member is obligated to take one of the three Business English classes held in the office each week, covering all key Business English areas.
Managing Partner of PKF Thailand, John Casella, said that the results were a very impressive achievement and would be an important part of the metric used when deciding upcoming employee promotions. He added that personal development is one of PKF Thailand's core values and that he was proud to see his staff members taking a pro-active approach to language acquisition.
The largest increase this year was by accountant Supaporn Sukkaew, who saw a staggering 73% increase on her 2014 result; four other staff members had improvements of more than 60% on this year's BULATS test, a Cambridge English language assessment.
PKF International's Communications Manager, David Norcross, explained: "English proficiency is a key point of differentiation for the PKF network, and all member firms are encouraged to take advantage of the soft skills courses provided by PKF International's People department."
PKF Thailand's fiscal year ended on 30 June, 2015 and employees will be informed of their promotions within a fortnight.
