Adding "the Board of Directors' Meeting" as non-working" under the
Work of Aliens Act B.E. 2551 Work Permit changeThe Department
of Employment has announced seven short-stay areas which no longer
require a work permit under the Work of Aliens Act B.E. 2551 (A.D.
2008). This announcement was made on 6th March 2015, and adds
"attending a Board of Directors' Meeting" to six activities which
were previously announced in 2013.
The following activities no longer require a work permit:
Participating in conferences and seminars;Visiting exhibitions or
trade fairs;Visiting business sites or attending business
meetings;Attending special or academic lectures;Attending lectures
or seminars on technical training;Purchasing activities at trade
fairs;Attending a Board of Directors' Meeting.
As they are non-working activities, it is possible to perform these
activities on a visa on arrival (15-30 days), which is available
free to many nationalities.
These changes have been brought about with the intention of
promoting foreign investment in Thailand by simplifying what was
previously a complicated and laborious process.
